ProSolo followed by a National Tour &#8211; they call Spring Nationals.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150520_224059949_iOS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2414\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150520_224059949_iOS-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"20150520_224059949_iOS\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150520_224059949_iOS-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150520_224059949_iOS-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Lincoln is a long way from San Diego.\u00a0 Reset the Trip B odometer in the driveway on my way out one morning.\u00a0 And here it is stopped in my paddock spot the next afternoon:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150521_225813059_iOS.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2416\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150521_225813059_iOS-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"1597.4\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150521_225813059_iOS-1024x768.jpg 1024w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/20150521_225813059_iOS-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Towing an open trailer is a lot more serene an experience than the enclosed, with the Tundra.\u00a0 Power and brakes are fine and stability is good in most cases, but the range is sooo much better with the open trailer.\u00a0 Mileage is about 10 (+\/- 2 depending on geography) where it averaged about 13.5 pulling the open trailer.\u00a0 That means it was easy to go 250 miles between stops with the open, where you&#8217;re looking for gas between 150-180 with the enclosed.\u00a0 Next truck will have a much bigger tank!<\/p>\n<p>The weekend started with the ProSolo.\u00a0 First pair of runs Saturday morning were decent, but I failed to improve basically at all the whole event- whereas the rest of the class had no trouble doing so.\u00a0 Was a little unnerved in that upon coming in from my third run smoke was billowing out from the front of the car.\u00a0 Given all the work I&#8217;d just done with the headers, was worried something might be getting cooked underhood.\u00a0 Turns out it was just the brakes bedding to the new front rotors but uggg, what a distraction.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2417\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_1.jpg\" alt=\"z_prosolo_1\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_1.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_1-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2418\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_2.jpg\" alt=\"z_prosolo_2\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_2.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2419\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_3.jpg\" alt=\"z_prosolo_3\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_3.jpg 800w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/z_prosolo_3-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After reviewing some of the photos, am surprised how much steering input the car has into it in spots.\u00a0\u00a0 Have since upped the rear spring rate from 700 to 800 &#8211; but that wasn&#8217;t until I got back.<\/p>\n<p>An in-car from a left-side run Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2015 springnats leftside\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MwjyAHXYzCU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Since El Toro, I&#8217;d moved from 245-40 to 255-40-18 RE71R Bridgestones.\u00a0 Went down a click in front bump (from 6 to 5 of 13) up half a turn in front rebound (from 1.5 to 2 out of 2.5 turns).\u00a0 Also up in rear bump and rebound (from 3 to 5 of 13 clicks on both).\u00a0 Also went up from full soft to the middle setting on the rear bar.\u00a0 Did the headers and front brake rotors mentioned earlier too.<\/p>\n<p>Car felt great in the slaloms &#8211; best it&#8217;s been so far, and really, the first time it&#8217;d ever felt good in a slalom since I&#8217;d owned it.\u00a0 Mid-corner balance was better, but maybe still not quite there yet.<\/p>\n<p>The Tour that followed wasn&#8217;t really any better.\u00a0 The first day was wet to drying, and I learned a little about the nannies the hard way.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"2015 springnats tour day 1\" width=\"1020\" height=\"574\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MFEidQNA3Jo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Hopefully the spring rate change will free the car up a bit more and help its overall speed.\u00a0 It&#8217;s never even hinted at inside wheelspin and only got a little bit loose once or twice.<\/p>\n<p>Hopefully will get once local practice at El Toro before Nats, but might not, not sure yet.\u00a0 Car is a lot of fun, and have the full OBD data acquisition hooked up now, will post some more on that later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well that was a lot of meh.
