{"id":1220,"date":"2012-01-16T11:06:02","date_gmt":"2012-01-16T19:06:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/?p=1220"},"modified":"2012-01-16T11:06:02","modified_gmt":"2012-01-16T19:06:02","slug":"taking-a-little-break","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/?p=1220","title":{"rendered":"Taking a little break"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DSC09625.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1221\" title=\"DSC09625\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DSC09625-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DSC09625-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/DSC09625-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I know some of my more ardent\u00a0 blog followers will find this disappointing, but I&#8217;m going to be taking a break from the Camaro for a while.<\/p>\n<p>As for progress from the last update &#8211; the rear quarter windows have been installed (much harder than it sounds to get it right), and I&#8217;ve put the rear seats in. \u00a0Windshield washer system is put together. \u00a0Flywheel\/clutch\/pp, bellhousing, and transmission are all together and in. \u00a0Fuel tank is fully in and buttoned up. \u00a0Original driveshaft fits perfectly though it will need to get cleaned up and receive fresh U-joints.<\/p>\n<p>Left on the to-do list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fuel system<\/li>\n<li>Cooling system<\/li>\n<li>Power steering system<\/li>\n<li>Electrical system (alternator and gauges)<\/li>\n<li>Vent windows and door glass<\/li>\n<li>Front seats<\/li>\n<li>Exhaust system (headers and header-back system)<\/li>\n<li>Wheels and tires<\/li>\n<li>Odds and ends<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Planning to get back to this late in the Spring or sometime in Summer. \u00a0In the meantime, have a planned investment in infrastructure &#8211; an enclosed trailer, which I&#8217;ve never myself owned before, always borrowed. \u00a0The timing should work out well, I can use San Diego&#8217;s great autumn and winter to fine tune the car, so it is all ready to go for next year, instead of a big event like the SD Tour being its first outing.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;ve been following along some of the SCCA forums threads, you may have an idea what I&#8217;ll be driving in 2012 instead of this. \u00a0Some opportunities are too good to pass up!<\/p>\n<p>When I&#8217;m back to work on the car, I&#8217;ll put some notes up on Facebook and the forums I visit, so don&#8217;t worry about visiting here every day for updates.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I know some of my more ardent\u00a0 blog followers will find this disappointing, but I&#8217;m going to be taking a break from the Camaro for a while.
