{"id":1122,"date":"2011-09-05T22:46:20","date_gmt":"2011-09-06T05:46:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/?p=1122"},"modified":"2011-11-14T11:44:23","modified_gmt":"2011-11-14T19:44:23","slug":"rear-brakes-and-subframe-connectors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/?p=1122","title":{"rendered":"Rear brakes and subframe connectors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Initial progress over the holiday weekend.\u00a0 Rear brakes (rotors and calipers) and subframe connectors got installed.<\/p>\n<p>Before getting started on the connectors, decided to wax the  underside of the car.\u00a0 Not that this is something I plan to do often (or  perhaps, ever again), but it should help keep the underside clean, easy  to wipe off any dirt and grime that lands there.\u00a0 With it all bare,  this presented the last good opportunity for this extra protection  before the car&#8217;s underside starts to get &#8220;busy&#8221; wheels for the real vintage look, if the situation ever warrants.\u00a0 For autocross, these are probably overkill, while being a little small for track duty.\u00a0 Thinking I would like to run the car at the track a little bit some day, Laguna Seca and maybe Streets of Willow.\u00a0 With its autocross geared rear end, it&#8217;ll only be good for about 115 in 4th gear, not enough for most tracks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/DSC09504.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1134\" title=\"DSC09504\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/DSC09504-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/DSC09504-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/DSC09504-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Compare to how things looked a year ago:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/DSC09119.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-190\" title=\"DSC09119\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/DSC09119-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/DSC09119-300x225.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.rhoadescamaro.com\/build\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/DSC09119-1024x768.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Another good thing about this kit, is there are several different Wilwood calipers that can mount in place with no other changes.\u00a0 Because we don&#8217;t have the ability to use proportioning valves in ST, changing calipers is a coarse way of adjusting bias.\u00a0 These calipers are 4-piston, but one of the larger 4-piston units; if there&#8217;s too much rear bias, I can go to a smaller 4-piston; if there&#8217;s too little, I can step up to a 6 piston.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Made some big orders over the weekend, a complete interior is on its way, along with a few race goodies.\u00a0 Particularly excited about the battery;
